Guidelines Onsite Video campaigns

In this online guideline document, you will find the rules we apply when creating all bol Retail Media Onsite Video campaigns.

General Onsite video

An onsite video:

  • is always formatted in four sizes: 1152x250, 768x250, 480x250 and 320x320;
  • is fully designed in the brand's visual identity;
  • is always muted;
  • lasts a maximum of 12 seconds;
  • shares a copy on the static part of the banner along with a CTA button;
  • can have a lifestyle image, color or a combination of color and product image as the background.

Visuals

Product images

The images for Onsite Video campaigns should:

  • be high resolution and at least 1080 by 1080 pixels in size;
  • be complete: an image has been provided for all mentioned products;
  • be provided on a transparent or white background;
  • not include logos/watermarks/text;
  • be provided in .png or .tiff file format (otherwise .jpg).

Videos

The videos for Onsite Video campaigns should:

  • be high resolution and at least 1080 by 1080 pixels in size;
  • be 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9;
  • support the message and the product in question is clearly visible;
  • have a realistic feel (no stock footage).

We recommend a video length between 6 and 12 seconds. Shorter videos achieve better results, but we can make exceptions up to a maximum of 15 seconds.

High-resolution logo, product, and lifestyle image(s)

Provide images with sufficient resolution for online use. If multiple product images are provided, please indicate which products have priority. Not every format has space to display all products. It is also helpful for our designers to know the proportions/dimensions of different products.

Copy & call to action

Copy

The copy is the message we place on the banner. Within the bol brand identity, we adhere to a maximum of 36 characters (including spaces and punctuation marks). One character more or less can always be discussed and adjusted accordingly.

Sentence structure & text layout

  • The copy consists of a title and subtitle.
  • We don't like to break up words. So try not to use long words such as 'huishoudmiddelen’ (household items), 'afwascyclussen’ (dishwashing cycles), etc., in the copy.

Call to action button

The call to action text can be freely determined, with a maximum of 20 characters. However, the CTA button must remain in the bol visual style.

Font

The bol brand identity includes two font families: Produkt and Graphik. These two fonts contribute to the recognizable appearance.

Color palette

To match the video banner to the advertiser's visual identity, it is not allowed to use colors from the bol color palette.

If a color from the advertiser's visual identity matches the bol color palette, we can make an exception.

Formats

The video you provide affects the banners we create. Therefore, make sure the video is of good quality.
